**Job Summary**

The Commercial Sewer will be responsible for receiving fabric materials and patterns, and successively sewing the fabric in accordance with specified pattern requirements for commercial office furniture. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines is required to ensure accuracy and consistency in the sewing process.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Fabric Preparation**: Receive fabric materials and patterns from the cutting department and prepare them for sewing by inspecting and organizing them according to production requirements.
  • **Sewing Operations**: Operate industrial sewing machines to join fabric pieces together, following sewing patterns and instructions provided. Seam, and stitch fabric components to create various furniture items, such as seats and mobile ped covers.
  • **Quality Control**: Perform quality checks on sewn fabric components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Identify and address any defects or irregularities in seams, stitches, or finished products.
  • **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when operating sewing machines and handling materials to maintain a safer working environment.
  • **Production**: Collaborate with departments to ensure production processes are seamless. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to exchange information and address production issues.

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma
  • Previous experience as a sewer in a commercial industrial setting. Candidates with experience in furniture manufacturing or upholstery is desirable.
  • Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and performing various sewing techniques, such as seaming and stitching.
