The Market Category Analyst plays a crucial role in analyzing data, offering insights based on findings, and implementing strategies that align with departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a high-performing team and foster partnerships both internally and externally
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Pricing Strategy, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations.
    • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Curate a unique, customer-focused product assortment.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to identify critical opportunities and trends that lead to actionable conclusions.
  • Design engaging omnichannel promotions to showcase Giant's featured products.
  • Forecast promotional activities in line with the departmental budget.
  • Capture and relay insights to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of analytical experience in a retail or Consumer Packaged Goods environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in analyzing complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Negotiation skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with syndicated/competitive data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) is preferred.
