Job Summary

Pyramid Healthcare Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and services in our addiction treatment and mental health programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and assume responsibility for high-risk patients, ensuring their needs are met and their care is coordinated.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date bed-board management, communicating with admissions and other departments as needed.
  • Provide on-call support and cover shifts as required, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure patient needs are met, and participate in chart reviews and action planning.
  • Review medication administration records (MARs) to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review detox protocols and length of stay, ensuring patients receive appropriate care and support.
  • Assist staff in high-volume shifts, prioritizing and organizing tasks to ensure efficient delivery of care.
  • Respond to client grievances, keeping the Director of Nursing (DON) informed of client and staff issues.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy to ensure patients receive necessary medications in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure labs are addressed, review and sign lab work, and obtain and transcribe physician orders.
  • Obtain and review HCG results after beginning any medications.
  • Follow proper consent procedures, ensuring patient rights are respected.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Maintain staff development needs, ensuring records are up-to-date and staff are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Ensure infection control policies and procedures are maintained, promoting a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  • Nurse recruitment, retention, and professional development, ensuring a skilled and dedicated nursing team.
  • Nursing competency and evaluation completion, ensuring staff meet the highest standards of care.
  • Complete monthly unit meetings, risk management, and attend treatment team meetings, ensuring collaboration and communication among team members.
  • Nursing assessments, treatment plans, medication administration, vital signs, knowledge of detox protocols, and assisting medical doctors as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in Virginia.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, with a strong background in addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws, confidentiality, state licensing regulations, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Strong leadership ability, team builder, and ability to drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Confidentiality, multitasking, decisiveness, excellent problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills, teaching, and cooperation within the team.
