We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer I to join our team at Mastech Digital. As a Project Engineer I, you will play a key role in the development of new products that meet all aspects of product objectives, including performance and return on investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop products with powerful customer impact using engineering skills.
  • Drive solutions for customers with commitment, innovation, and interaction, focusing on quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Lead project teams for the development of new products.
  • Maintain 3D master assembly models of products using clients' drawing methods and standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed 2D component drawings with all required information.
  • Develop product bills of material and product options.
  • Identify critical assembly operations and provide necessary assembly torqueing information.
  • Initiate and support the development of all product documentation.
  • Assist with PCM presentations and maintain project-related information.
  • Calculate the cost of products and monitor project budgets.
  • Perform numerical calculations to support design integrity.
  • Assist with digital tools such as FEA analysis and CFD analysis.
  • Perform Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) to ensure component integrity and safety.
  • Analyze products for potential misuse.
  • Strive to maintain First Time Right (FTR) metric of greater than 90%.
  • Strive for high reuse of existing components in new products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or product design.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineer in a manufacturing or R&D design center.
  • Experience leading project teams for the development of new products.
  • Experience in a design for manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in rotating machinery development and medical equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical or compressed air systems is preferred.
  • Excellent 3D modeling skills and strong command of 2D drawing detailing.
  • Good command of English is required, and other languages are a plus.
  • Software skills, including MS Office and BPCS (AS/400).
