We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of Virginia Health System. As a Magnet Recognized academic medical center, we provide world-class care to our patients and are committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to a variety of complex patients, consistently demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level, collaborating with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Seek and provide feedback for improved clinical practice, assuming a beginning leadership role and seeking mentoring as needed.
- Participate in shared governance and engage in performance improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical knowledge and best practices, applying evidence-based care to patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
- 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
- Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia; American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending, and stooping. The nurse must be proficient in communicative, auditory, and visual skills, with attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The nurse may be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
