Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse

Amergis is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse to join our team. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting mental health and well-being.

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a psychiatric facility setting. You will work closely with individuals to achieve their recovery goals and provide health promotion and maintenance. Additionally, you will conduct intake screening, evaluation, and triage, provide case management, teach self-care activities, administer and monitor psychobiological treatment regimens, and practice crisis intervention and stabilization.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a psychiatric facility setting
  • Partner with individuals to achieve their recovery goals
  • Provide health promotion and maintenance
  • Conduct intake screening, evaluation, and triage
  • Provide case management
  • Teach self-care activities
  • Administer and monitor psychobiological treatment regimens
  • Practice crisis intervention and stabilization
  • Engage in psychiatric rehabilitation and intervention
  • Educate patients, families, and communities
  • Coordinate care within interdisciplinary teams
Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
