Position Overview:

As a Senior Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients.

The role involves performing essential nursing tasks, monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens for laboratory analysis, and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments. You will be responsible for observing, documenting, and reporting on the physical and mental health status of patients.


Key Responsibilities:

The following list outlines essential functions associated with this position:

  • Provide effective education to patients and families, ensuring all teaching is documented. 10%
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate communication and documentation of results. 10%
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and psychosocial conditions, documenting findings accurately and timely. 40%
  • Administer treatments and medications safely and in accordance with established protocols, including accurate recording of vital signs. 40%

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships within a healthcare setting.
  • Capacity to maintain an appropriate work pace relative to workload demands.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills relevant to the role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with pediatric patients.
  • At least 6 months of experience as an LVN in an acute care or outpatient environment.
  • Possess the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with JCAHO standards.
  • Understanding of university and medical center policies and procedures.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current LVN license (Required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
