Job Overview

Johnson Metal Works is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Structural Steel Construction and experience with Shop Fabrication, Materials Transport, and Field Assembly.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Executing to D1.1 Code Standards
  • Performing SMAW and GMAW processes
  • Reading and interpreting Structural Plan sets and Shop Drawings
  • Ensuring high-quality work produced and adherence to AISC, AWS, and JMW standards

Requirements include:

  • AWS Welding Certification 1G, higher levels preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a metal shop setting
  • Strong safety culture attitude and ability to lift 50lbs
  • Experience with CJP requirements and procedures
  • General Shop tool and equipment experience, including forklift/telehandler operations
