Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Prepares a diverse range of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients using various cooking methods including grilling, frying, and baking.
- Ensures adequate stock levels of food products at cooking stations to facilitate seamless service.
- Measures and portions food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Prepares ingredients for various cooking techniques by seasoning, marinating, and breading as necessary.
- Handles, labels, and stores food products appropriately to maintain quality.
- Assists with food preparation tasks as needed and supports kitchen staff in various capacities.
- Utilizes kitchen equipment to clean, slice, and prepare ingredients.
- Creates dressings and sauces to complement dishes.
- Monitors cooking processes to ensure even preparation and quality.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas, including washing and cutting fruits and vegetables.
- Carves and portions meats for service.
- Adheres to proper presentation and garnishing standards for all dishes.
- Follows established recipes accurately to ensure consistency.
- Assists in closing kitchen operations and follows closing procedures.
- Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes ideas for improvement.
- Receives and organizes food supplies and equipment efficiently.
- Informs supervisors of equipment malfunctions and low stock levels promptly.
- Completes opening and closing checklists to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Takes full responsibility for the quality of food served.
- Consistently adheres to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality control measures.
- Ensures proper storage of food to prevent spoilage and maintains temperature controls.
- Regularly checks food quality and freshness, rotating stock as necessary.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment, including all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
- Disposes of waste properly and ensures cleanliness of garbage containers.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in culinary preparation and cooking.
- At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
