The CAPTA Counselor role at Safe Children Coalition, Inc. focuses on assisting families and infants impacted by substance use. This position is crucial in promoting the safety, health, and overall welfare of vulnerable populations. Responsibilities include performing assessments, facilitating treatment engagement, recommending necessary services, and fostering partnerships within the community.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and analyze behavioral issues.
- Encourage participant involvement in treatment and address obstacles to participation.
- Provide suitable treatment suggestions and complete the Plan of Safe Care.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with community stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable about at-risk youth and adolescents facing challenges.
- Strong communication abilities and collaborative mindset.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in approach.
- Capable of working independently and managing crisis situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and various software applications.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Possession of a valid state driver's license and vehicle insurance.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related discipline, accompanied by relevant professional experience in child welfare or social services.
