Teaching Pool Manager

The City of Shoreview, MN is a community that values education and recreation. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled water safety instructor to join our team.

**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for teaching swim lessons to individuals of various age groups and skill levels. As a water safety instructor, you will be trained on our swim program methods and provide ongoing training sessions and meetings throughout the year.

**Responsibilities**

• Contact participants and schedule/coordinate lesson times
• Arrive on time for shift
• Teach swim strokes and water safety rules to various age groups, which may include individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities
• Observe swimmers and pool area and respond to unsafe conditions
• Enforce all facility policies, rules and regulations
• Regularly participate in training sessions and meetings
• Other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Manager, Aquatics Supervisor/Coordinator/Specialist, or Pool Coordinator

**Requirements**

We are looking for candidates who have:

• 1 year customer service experience
• 1 year teaching experience as swim lesson instructor or swim coach
• Available to work non-traditional hours

**Preferred Qualifications**

Candidates with additional customer service experience and current swimming instructor certification from one or more of the following organizations: Red Cross WSI, YMCA, Foss Swim School, USA Swimming ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association), or USA Swimming STSC (Safety Training for Swim Coaches) are highly preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $27.00 - $28.00 hourly and benefits including free Community Center Membership, free parking, direct deposit, and uniforms where applicable.
