Senior Data Engineer for Machine Learning

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for migrating customers from our previous service to our new one. This will involve working with the engineering team to develop tooling to move data and collaborating with customers to change their Python clients to use the latest SDK.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Migrate public data sets with Python and ensure seamless integration with our new service.
  • Coordinate with customers to migrate their datasets and provide support during the migration process.
  • Help customers change their code to use the new SDK and ensure a smooth transition.
  • Perform changes to services written in Java and ensure they are compatible with our new service.
  • Mitigate and resolve issues identified during migration and ensure our service is running smoothly.
  • Identify and fix issues in the migration tool and add new functions to improve its performance.
  • Assist EPMs in collecting metrics to track the progress of the migration and provide insights for improvement.
  • Deploy the services to new accounts, working closely with partners and engineers to ensure a successful deployment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of Python, Spark, Java, and PostgreSQL, with experience working with infrastructure technologies like Kube and Helm.
  • Familiarity with data and ML infrastructure and operations, with a strong understanding of technologies like Spark and Iceberg.
  • Experience working with production systems and knowledge of deployments, releases, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong REST API system design experience and understanding of distributed systems.
  • Good communication skills with internal customers and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
