Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

UPMC Shadyside/Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the PET/CT team. This position will support Hillman Cancer Center, consisting of daylight shifts Monday - Friday, between the hours of 6am - 5:30pm.

Responsibilities:
  • Work as a team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
  • Ensure all exams within your area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.
  • Maintain appropriate records of the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Identify patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures.
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data.
  • Document patient history in the electronic record as required.
  • Calculate, measure, and record patient dose according to departmental policy and Radiation Safety Guidelines.
  • Competently perform nuclear medicine exams at a high level of proficiency producing technically optimal results.
  • Perform all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment to ensure proper performance and functioning.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT(N) or CNMT registry or registry eligible.
  • Must obtain registry within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR or BLS Required.

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
