Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NICU Nurse to join our team at DCH Health System. As a key member of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and leadership to our team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of each assigned patient on admission and on an ongoing basis, taking into account physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs.
  • Patient Education: Develop and implement patient education plans based on individual needs, identifying barriers to learning and providing effective communication.
  • Care Coordination: Coordinate care planning with patients, families, providers, and other disciplines to achieve patient-centered outcomes.
  • Leadership and Delegation: Assign and delegate nursing care to team members, ensuring patient needs are met and team members are utilized effectively.
  • Quality and Safety: Apply safety principles when performing care and accurately document observations, care provided, and changes in care plans.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Current Alabama RN license and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required.
  • Education and Experience: Professional nursing certification preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet.
