Position Overview: The Senior Advanced Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in the establishment and management of quality assurance systems, alongside the application and evaluation of testing and inspection methodologies. This position also involves utilizing metrology and statistical techniques to identify and rectify deficiencies in quality control practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and sustains quality assurance goals, procedures, and processes in collaboration with quality and plant management to enhance process efficiency, boost product reliability, and reduce expenses.
  • Monitors, documents, refines, and standardizes manufacturing operations and protocols, including the analysis and reporting of manufacturing data to conduct capability assessments, identify challenges and opportunities, and track outcomes.
  • Creates, implements, and oversees inspection and quality assurance protocols.
  • Designs and formulates documentation and guidelines for recording, assessing, and reporting quality and reliability metrics and performance.
  • Collaborates with external entities, such as strategic sourcing, suppliers, and clients, to ensure acceptable quality standards and to address and resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Organizes, advocates for, and conducts training sessions related to product and process quality and reliability.
  • In partnership with site quality management, acts as a representative for ISO ANSI/ASQC Q and conducts audits to evaluate compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Employs PFMEA for assessing product and process risks.
  • Leads product and process introductions with a focus on process capability and statistical significance, while adhering to validation protocols.
  • Conducts data gathering, analysis, and trend monitoring.
  • Assists or spearheads comprehensive investigations into quality issues and implements effective corrective and preventive measures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possesses a strong understanding of design controls, design verification and validation, production and process controls, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, complaint management, risk management, and product quality enhancement.
  • Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plan development.
  • Skilled in utilizing analytical tools and techniques to interpret data, identify root causes, and lead problem-solving initiatives to implement effective solutions.
  • Knowledgeable about production processes, standard mechanical, metallurgical, and electrical testing methods, SPC, and ISO standards.
  • Exhibits a strong sense of urgency, teamwork, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Preferred qualifications include Six Sigma Green Belt and ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Quality or Industrial preferred) or a related field; or, four years of relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015).
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically 50% or more.
