Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Capitol Stampings. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing highly repetitive assembly operations on small or medium-sized mechanical units or components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual and automatic machines to perform assembly operations.
  • Perform visual inspections of parts for defects and complete quality check sheets.
  • Count and package parts for shipment.
  • Use small hand tools and/or bench-type power tools in assembly operations.
  • Perform spot welding and handle minor rework as needed.
  • Cross-train for all positions within the Assembly Department as requested.
  • Report labor hours by entering correct information in the computer.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and/or assembly drawings.
  • Ability to read/write and understand verbal and written work instructions, work orders, and customer specifications.
  • High level of eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and stand for all or most of a regular work shift.
  • Able to wear protective gear designated for the department.
