Key Responsibilities:- Conduct lubricant assessments for various clients utilizing multiple testing methodologies in accordance with ASTM standards.
- Perform fuel evaluations for different clients through both on-road and dynamometer testing procedures.
- Ensure safe execution of fuel and lubricant testing by adhering to established safety protocols and Environmental Management and Quality Systems.
- Operate engine test cells through computer systems for data collection, focusing on lubricant efficacy, fuel efficiency, and engine durability.
- Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and project engineers to communicate test progress and outcomes.
- Assemble and disassemble gasoline and diesel engines following detailed test protocols.
- Support operational equipment by assembling and disassembling auxiliary pumps and motors.
- Prepare and label fuel and lubricant samples for laboratory analysis.
- Utilize scanners for various vehicle models; maintain test logs, time records, and project documentation; perform tire maintenance; and modify fuel systems for specific testing needs.
- Execute tasks such as removing and installing cylinder heads, transmissions, axles, and fuel tanks; conduct inspections; perform automotive fluid changes; and carry out comprehensive maintenance on a variety of vehicles.
- Input collected data into a computer database and perform routine maintenance on engines.
- Maintain a tidy workspace and adhere to all safety regulations regarding potentially hazardous materials during testing operations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred qualifications include an Automotive Mechanic or Certified Master Mechanic designation, an Associate's degree, or ASE certification, along with a CDL License.
- Shift work is a requirement.
- A minimum of 5 years of vocational or commercial automotive or diesel mechanical training or related experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word, is essential.
- Overtime may be necessary based on project demands; candidates should be prepared for exposure to solvents, gasoline, diesel, and coolants.
- A valid and clear driver's license is mandatory.
