Role Overview:
The Patient Care Coordination Associate is responsible for providing an exceptional initial experience for patients and their representatives, whether in person or via phone. This role involves gathering necessary demographic and insurance information to facilitate accurate billing and reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with patients and families to complete the registration process, collecting essential demographic and health information while verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Utilize computer systems to accurately enter and verify patient data in real-time.
  • Gather clinical information and manage referrals, pre-certifications, and authorizations in accordance with insurance requirements.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, creating price estimates and conducting reverifications as necessary.
  • Collect patient co-pays and discuss financial obligations with patients.
  • Identify and address outstanding balances from previous visits.
  • Collect data from patients and referring providers to confirm and schedule appointments prior to hospital discharge.
  • Respond compassionately to inquiries from patients and caregivers regarding routine and sensitive topics.
  • Generate and analyze patient data reports, following up on any discrepancies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of registration requirements across various departments.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work full-time with rotating shifts.

Preferred:
  • Experience in scheduling and authorizations.
  • Background in healthcare and clinical knowledge.

Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods while using a workstation on wheels and phone/headset.

Note: The sign-on bonus is applicable only to external candidates. Internal candidates are not eligible.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position varies based on several factors, including local labor markets and individual qualifications.
