Production Training Supervisor

Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and facilitate training for employees involved in production and packaging operations. This includes guiding operators and general labor, managing supplies and materials, documenting training progress, and ensuring adherence to safety and good manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct new employees on work tasks and techniques.
- Review job descriptions and safety documentation relevant to production roles.
- Provide daily progress updates on employees to supervisors as necessary.
- Conduct training for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff as required.
- Monitor production and packaging operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with production rates.
- Fill in for temporary vacancies on production lines as needed.
- Inspect products to confirm they meet all specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct plant tours for new employees and assist with new hire training sessions, including GMP and safety topics.
- Manage the supply of materials, ensuring accurate delivery and removal as scheduled.
- Provide guidance and support to production line operators as required.
- Ensure changeovers and setups are executed according to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, overseeing cleaning and equipment maintenance.
- Prepare work schedules and production plans for assigned lines.
- Troubleshoot production issues and assist maintenance with repairs.
- Complete all required paperwork and housekeeping duties at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work safely and promote safe working habits among coworkers.
- Capability to understand and perform tasks to departmental standards.
- Physical ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Proficient in reading instructions and communicating effectively in English; bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
- Previous experience in a similar department is preferred.
- Strong employment history is required.
- Familiarity with written SSOPs and MSDS is essential.
- Availability to work scheduled shifts and required overtime.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide clear instructions and follow up with employees.
