Job Title: Social Worker

Job Summary:

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to join our team. As a Social Worker, you will provide family-centered social work services to guests of our organization, collaborating with hospital social workers, RMHC-CNI staff, and community partners to advance the organization's commitment to enhancing Family-Centered Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular outreach to family members to identify needs and provide emotional support
  • Coordinate resources and supportive services between RMHC-CNI, hospital social workers, and community providers
  • Monitor patient/family care and discharge plans, assisting families with preparing for transition to home communities
  • Collaborate with family services staff to address unique or challenging family concerns or needs
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships to enhance supportive services offered within RMHC-CNI programs
  • Develop and lead individual and group activities for adults and children focused on enhancing well-being and providing emotional support
  • Maintain thorough, timely, and professional client records and data utilizing RMHC-CNI database systems and processes
  • Design and use methods of integrating family voice into evaluation and enhancement of programming and services

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) or equivalent highly preferred
  • At least three years experience providing direct family-centered services in a not-for-profit or healthcare setting
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred

Work Environment:

  • Exposed to moderate noise levels
  • Frequent interruptions, ability to multitask is key to success in this role
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Must be available to work irregular hours, shifts, weekends with proper notice

Physical Abilities:

  • Basic office work with the physical ability to move throughout the program location during the shift
  • Must be willing and able to move between program locations; advanced notice will be provided
