Job Summary

As a Development Engineer Intern in the Cement Manufacturing department at CEMEX, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cement production, process improvements, quality and reliability, equipment maintenance, and data management. You will work on real-world projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements in cement manufacturing
  • Conduct quality and reliability analyses to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with equipment maintenance teams to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Analyze data to inform business decisions and drive process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements
  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic/Manufacturing Engineering, Mining/Materials Science Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 (3.0 preferred)
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a heavy or manufacturing industry (co-op, internship, or university projects preferred)
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, and working outdoors
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location
  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
