Job Title: School Nurse LPN

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a School Nurse in the Freedom, PA area. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students in our school district.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide direct school nursing services, assess and evaluate student health and developmental status, and interpret health information to school personnel, parents, and students. You will also serve as a health resource person, provide parent education, and participate in the development of Health Plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide school nursing services to direct service school districts
  • Assess and evaluate student health and developmental status
  • Interpret health information to school personnel, parents, and students
  • Serve as a health resource person in the health instruction curriculum
  • Provide parent education related to student needs
  • Participate in the development of Health Plans and attend school conferences as needed
  • Provide care, delegate, and teach care to others under the established plan of care
  • Attend continuing education programs as required by licensure and participate in Aveanna in-servicing and training
  • Exhibit behavior supporting and promoting student rights and overall well-being
  • Follow Aveanna and school board policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pediatrics experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have a strong sense of smell and touch
  • Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
Environment:
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
