Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a prominent food industry player in Reading, PA. This role is crucial to the company's operations, ensuring all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of readiness, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, rebuild, and modify all equipment, facility, or facility ancillary equipment as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of production processes.
  • Troubleshoot recurring breakdowns for prevention and recommend procedure changes.
  • Utilize testing equipment or diagnostic skills to determine the real cause of problems.
  • Instruct equipment operators as needed to prevent machine or system damage.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment in sound working condition.
  • Assist with facility repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all work performed using maintenance management software.
  • Support machine setups and changeovers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; formal technical training preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude. Must pass in-house mechanical aptitude test(s).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Knowledge in electrical up to 480 Volt VAC, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC troubleshooting and repair, lock out-tag out safety procedures, operation of mills, lathes and general machine shop equipment, Mig and Tig welding, plumbing and refrigeration, and thorough understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
