Position Overview:

As a vital member of the firefighting team, you will operate under the guidance of senior fire department officials to effectively prevent, manage, and extinguish various fire incidents. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including rescue operations, first aid, and safeguarding property from fire damage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fire Suppression: Engage in firefighting efforts for aircraft, wildland, and structural fires using specialized equipment and techniques. You will control and extinguish fires while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance your skills in fire response and rescue operations. This includes practical drills and educational sessions to meet regulatory standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of firefighting apparatus and personal protective gear to ensure operational readiness.
  • Emergency Medical Response: Provide emergency medical assistance at the EMR or EMT-Basic level, adhering to established medical protocols and completing necessary documentation.
  • Rescue Operations: Utilize tools and equipment to perform rescues in various scenarios, including aircraft incidents and confined spaces.
  • Fire Prevention: Assist in identifying fire hazards and participate in fire safety training and drills to promote awareness and preparedness.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle communication and documentation tasks, including data entry into fire department systems and preparing reports.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess specialized knowledge in firefighting techniques, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials management. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations are essential.

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to undergo a background investigation. Compliance with physical fitness standards and obtaining necessary certifications within specified timeframes is required.
