Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Quadrant. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing screening breast imaging procedures and related techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform screening breast imaging procedures and related techniques
• Ensure services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Serve as part of the imaging center team and seek feedback for improved clinical practice
• Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient's medical record
• Corroborate patient's clinical history with physician's order and procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner
• Assume responsibility for patient needs during procedures
• Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
• Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications as prescribed by and under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded
• Provide education to patients, as well as students and other health care providers
• Perform ongoing quality assurance activities
• Identify, prepare, position patient, and competently perform procedure by using established Mammography protocols or as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation or intervention, to achieve the highest quality image
• Provide or assist with physical breast inspection or palpation
• Determine image exposure factors
• Maintain archival storage of digital data as appropriate
• Assist in maintaining supply inventory
• As required, instruct students and residents, and perform preceptor duties as necessary
• Establish ownership of clinical area by taking pride in appearance and readiness of exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Participate in performance improvement activities
• Take the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when work load/area allows
• Attend/participate in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled

Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program
• Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or American Registry of Clinical Radiologic Technologists
• Have High School diploma
