Park Ranger

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Park Ranger-Maintenance to join our team at the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising the maintenance staff to ensure that our facilities and grounds are safe and meet current standards.

• Supervise and train maintenance staff to ensure that facilities and grounds are maintained to the highest standards.
• Perform routine grounds and building maintenance and repair, including associated tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Provide customer service to diverse populations and perform duties related to fee collection, public relations, and visitor assistance.
• Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills and lead, direct, and train others.

• Ability to use a variety of tools, materials, and equipment to maintain facilities and grounds.
• Experience in grounds maintenance, including mowing, landscaping, snow removal, and tree work.
• Basic construction/maintenance trades skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Experience with automotive repair and preventative maintenance.
• Experience in herbicide spraying and resource management.
• Experience in trail maintenance and site safety practices in a park and/or maintenance environment.
