Job Summary
The Testing Center Proctor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of testing sessions at Black Hawk College. This includes administering exams, maintaining test security, and providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer computerized and paper/pencil exams to students
- Verify student identification and maintain test security
- Provide test results and instructions to students
- Monitor test rooms and resolve any issues that may arise
- Perform administrative tasks, such as filing and scheduling appointments
- Assist with reception desk duties, including check-in and check-out procedures
- Perform housekeeping duties, such as sanitizing keyboards and shredding scratch paper
- Answer telephone inquiries and provide accurate information to faculty, staff, and students
Requirements
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
- One-year test proctoring experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Customer service oriented, with ability to balance customer service with enforcement of testing security
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to give written and oral instructions, and communicate well and professionally with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
- Must be able to become certified to administer tests according to sponsors' and vendors' requirements
Working Relationships
- Works directly with the Testing Center Manager
- Works cooperatively with Testing Center staff, faculty, and students
- Works cooperatively with the Regional Office of Education and other institutions
Education and Experience
