We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Technician to join our team at the City of Newport News. As a Records Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Process and file documents, reports, and other records in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and requests for information in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of records management policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in records management or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
