About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Vulcan Materials Company. As a key member of our facility maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Safety: Prioritize safety for yourself and others throughout the operation, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment: Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment to maximize performance and limit downtime.
  • Inspect Equipment and Material: Inspect mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot errors, performing repairs as necessary.
  • Handle and Move Objects: Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.
  • Document and Record Information: Ensure accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding mobile equipment, entering and maintaining service reports in written or electronic form.
  • Perform General Physical Activities: Perform physical activities requiring whole-body movement and considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred, along with a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices: Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands, as well as tolerance for working outside in various weather conditions and loud noises.
  • Mechanical Skills: Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance is required.
