Position Overview

Location: This role is based at a unique and dynamic location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver operational, maintenance, and technical expertise for advanced radar RF systems, specifically ALCOR (C-band) and MMW (Ka-band).
  • Implement design enhancements and modifications for ALCOR and MMW systems, including the creation of schematics and overseeing the installation of these modifications by technicians.
  • Guide maintenance operations on RF systems, ensuring technicians are effectively directed in their tasks.
  • Conduct testing and failure analysis of RF systems down to the component level, designing and applying corrective actions to mitigate future issues.
  • Update and maintain comprehensive documentation for RF systems, ensuring all changes meet engineering standards.
Essential Qualifications
  • In-depth understanding of RF architecture fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of transmitter amplifiers, including Klystrons, TWTs, vacuum tubes, and transistor devices.
  • Proficient in using high-frequency and high-power RF and millimeter-wave equipment for complex measurements.
  • Familiarity with RF switching systems, radar protective devices, and shielding practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Mentorship experience with junior engineers and technicians.
  • Awareness of safety protocols related to high-power RF and X-radiation environments.
Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in RF and/or radar systems, including:
    • Field installation, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
    • Design and development engineering.
    • Project management experience.
    • Development and testing of RF systems, particularly in the Ka-band range.
    • Experience with high-power RF measurements and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with mission operations and test range systems.
    • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley hardware and software is a plus.
Additional Qualifications
  • Physical capability to work at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
