Position Overview:

The Aircraft Maintenance Specialist is accountable for executing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications on Company-operated aircraft and related components as designated, adhering to Air Methods' standards and protocols. This role is crucial in ensuring that operational objectives are achieved while maintaining compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, internal policies, and relevant maintenance manuals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in line with maintenance protocols, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
2. Verify that part numbers and serial numbers match associated documentation upon installation or removal of any component.
3. Ensure that all maintenance documentation complies with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and maintenance manuals.
4. Engage actively in the continuous improvement phase of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and familiarize oneself with SMS policies and procedures.
5. Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
6. Address compliance or safety issues as directed by supervisory personnel.
7. Inform the Pilot in Command (PIC) of any maintenance concerns that may affect aircraft serviceability.
8. Validate data in the Status Report regarding the aircraft being serviced.
9. Manage inventory of aviation parts and supplies to ensure readiness for operational demands.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Availability for on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Consistent attendance is essential.
• Travel requirements: 25-50% of the time for operational support.
• Periodic travel to support Part 135 operations and company goals will be expected.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Completion of factory airframe/power plant schools and experience in FAR 135 operations.

Skills:

• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and vibration-balancing techniques.
• Knowledgeable in sheet metal and composite repair methods.
• Ability to interpret various documents such as 337s, Service Bulletins, and ADs.
• Capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
• Team-oriented with a professional demeanor.
• Flexibility to work overtime and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Proficient in navigating electronic or paper-based manuals and vendor data.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with RAMCO is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• FAA A&P License in good standing is required.
