Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to individuals with developmental disabilities, respecting their preferences, choices, and independence.">
  • Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation, while promoting dignity and self-determination.">
  • Facilitate community outings, recreational activities, and social interactions to promote integration and participation in community life.">
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules, while adhering to all safety protocols and documentation requirements.">
  • Implement positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote the development of coping skills and emotional regulation techniques.">
  • Monitor individuals' health status and communicate any concerns or changes to healthcare professionals, ensuring timely access to medical care as needed.">
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of support services provided, including progress notes, incident reports, and individualized service plans.">
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including case managers, therapists, healthcare providers, and family members, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.">
  • Respond to crises and emergencies calmly and effectively, following established protocols and ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals supported.">
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of developmental disabilities and person-centered support.">

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or training in human services, psychology, social work, or related fields is preferred.">
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.">
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with individuals supported, families, and team members.">
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy towards individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds.">
  • The ability to follow instructions, implement care plans, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.">
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.">
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.">
  • A fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Service or eligibility to obtain one.">
  • The ability to adhere to all scheduled trainings as required for the position.">

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
