About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Animal Care Technician I (Cage Processing) to join our Insourcing Solutions team at Charles River Laboratories. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of laboratory animals and maintaining the integrity of our research.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality assurance to the cagewash area, ensuring that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standards.
- Monitor and record results of cagewash water temperature and cleaning results, using provided supplies such as temperature dots/strips, cultures.
- Ensure that all logbooks, checklists, and other records are completed in a timely fashion.
- Report any mechanical failures promptly and properly to the supervisor, and perform microbiological sampling in accordance with SOPs.
- Perform all other duties as they pertain to the processing of cages.
Requirements
- A High School diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent is required.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to recognize and communicate verbally and/or in writing, problems requiring the attention of high-level personnel in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Rodent husbandry experience is preferred.
- ALAT certification is preferred.
