Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their team in Virginia.

The ideal candidate will administer sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies/procedures. They will complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. They will maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition. The successful candidate will provide clinical services according to Nuclear Medicine practice standards while acting as a resource to Nuclear Medicine students and other technologists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate acquisition and exercise of new skills
  • Display progress in level of functionality
  • Communicate effectively with mentor(s) and over time, demonstrate greater independence and decision-making ability
  • Able to perform at expected level of supervisor(s) expectations
  • Adhere to department policies and protocols by ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation
  • Demonstrate the ability and skills to assist with adhering to radiography principles
  • Demonstrate the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Graduate of an accredited Associate's school/program of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • ARRT-N or CNMT obtained within one year of hire date
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within one year of hire date
  • Registered State Inspector – Virginia within 3 months
  • Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Student
  • Basic Life Support upon start
