About the Role:

As a Rating Analyst at S&P Global, you will play a critical role in evaluating the credit quality of local governments and their ability to repay debt obligations. Your responsibilities will include aggregating data and information to present to rating committees, interacting with clients, making presentations, and preparing reports for internal and external distribution.

Your Skills:

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong work ethic and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. You should also have strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact confidently with clients. Additionally, you should have strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be able to learn in both formal and on-the-job settings.

Basic Qualifications:

BS/BA or similar degree with studies in finance, government/public policy, accounting, economics, or similar fields.

A demonstrated interest in local governments and how they work.

Two years of relevant work experience in financial services, government, or another relevant analysis-focused field.

Strong work ethic and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact confidently with clients.

Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to learn in both formal and on-the-job settings.

Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with excellent time management skills.

Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and juggle multiple priorities at once.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.
