Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Capistrano Senior Living. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and services in a premier nursing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Observe, report, and document patient conditions, ensuring accurate and timely charting.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, maintaining a safe and controlled environment.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperatures, respiration, and pulse, to monitor patient status.
  • Prepare treatment trays, instruments, and equipment as needed for treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of assigned patients' conditions, reviewing reports from previous shifts to determine changes in status.
  • Assign duties to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or other nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation and teamwork.
  • Turn over accurate records to oncoming shift nurses, ensuring seamless communication and continuity of care.
  • Notify the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and/or Administrator of changes in patient condition or job-related issues.
Qualifications
  • Current registration and licensure in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • 2+ years' experience in long-term care, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in skilled nursing facilities.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, with a commitment to maintaining current certifications.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • A positive, professional, and calm demeanor in all work-related situations.
