Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems, components, and apparatus on industrial machinery and equipment. This role provides maintenance support to ensure the manufacturing process is continuous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work safely and maintain high safety standards
- Comply with safety requirements and notify appropriate personnel of exceptions
- Follow environmental compliance policies and programs
- Read schematics and blueprints
- Install, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct general mechanical problems on industrial machinery
- Troubleshoot and tune burner systems
- Have advanced skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
- Assist in developing and completing PM and Predictive maintenance programs
- Complete and maintain plant required records and reports
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss with other team members
- Calibrate machinery, balance and align fans
- Follow good housekeeping practices and ensure work areas are clean
- Complete assigned jobs and assist with mechanical training
- Work with outside contractors and attend required training
- Comply with Company and Plant rules
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent
- Journeyman Maintenance with 4 years of experience in pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, or machine repair
- Pass a hands-on performance test and Work Keys
- Pass the written Ramsay MecTest with an 80% or higher
- Maintenance related Computer Skills and experience with SAP
- Hydraulic and Pneumatics skills and basic blueprint reading
- Able to think under pressure and make quick decisions
- Able to communicate in English and read documents
- Work independently and produce high-quality work
- Good attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Able to do repetitive movements and climb on and off fork trucks
- Ability to stand for 10-12 hours straight and climb stairs
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and squat, bend, and twist
- Exposure to temperature extremes and uncomfortable noise levels
- Wear required personal protective equipment
