United Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to provide safe and reliable transportation services to residents in our service area.
The ideal candidate will possess a Class C or higher commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement and have at least one year of previous related experience.
Key Responsibilities- Pick up and deliver passengers safely and efficiently according to daily schedules and dispatch ride assignments.
- Make sound decisions based on traffic and road conditions and bus operations.
- Select booked trips according to times and locations, working with staff to set up routes and schedule special events.
- Operate the bus in a safe manner, following driver policies and procedures, and understand and follow MnDOT, Agency, and Program guidelines.
- Complete pre and post trip bus inspections, provide positive public relations and program awareness, and inform passengers of policies and procedures.
- Treat and assist passengers in a positive, professional manner, confronting situations tactfully and supporting and modeling United's Behavioral Competencies.
- Class C or higher commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement.
- One year of previous related experience.
- Knowledge of road use, laws, and regulations, and ability to relate in a courteous and professional manner.
- Demonstrated effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to use two-way radio and tablets to maintain communication.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain 9 - 23 passenger bus and wheelchair lift in all conditions, and read maps.
- Organizational and time management skills, and ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- Reliable, regular attendance, and ability to pass DOT physical and alcohol/drug testing requirements, and have satisfactory completion of background check.
