Position Overview:
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for assisting in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment, as well as maintaining the buildings, grounds, and utility systems of commercial real estate properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs, maintenance, and installations of machinery and tools to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Perform maintenance on utility systems to guarantee a continuous supply of essential services such as heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air.
  • Assist in the ongoing preventive maintenance program alongside other engineering and maintenance personnel.
  • Inspect operational machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain proper storage and usage knowledge.
  • Support compliance with safety protocols, including Hazard Communication Program and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Identify safety procedures and requirements for protective equipment and clothing.
  • Respond to work orders as directed by management.
  • Assist in implementing key control policies and procedures.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Regular attendance during scheduled work hours is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Building Automation Controls is preferred.
  • Be available for on-call and overtime duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective presentation skills for interacting with management and clients.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and painting disciplines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle various situations.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and professional demeanor.
  • Journeyman-level license or equivalent skill level in mechanical and control systems.
  • Refrigerant certification is required.
  • Licenses required by state or local regulations may be necessary.
