We are seeking a Part-time Associate (Cashier) to join our Store Operations Team at Smart & Final Extra in Reno, Nevada.

The Opportunity

The Part-Time Associate is the key to our success in providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and creating a great shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a store section as assigned, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise, and ensuring proper pricing and rotation of products.
  • Set up advertising and promotional displays, and review invoices for accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot.
  • Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and process refunds and transactions.
  • Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
  • Offer friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, and provide them with current store and product information.
  • Load customer purchases and assist customers to their vehicles when requested.
  • Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost or damaged goods and store supplies.
Requirements
  • Candidates should possess the ability to read and write English, interact with the general public and coworkers, and read and comprehend simple instructions and product labels.
  • Candidates should be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Candidates should be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
