Respiratory Therapist

Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking an exceptional Respiratory Therapist, Certified or Registered, to join our Respiratory Care team. Our Respiratory Therapists work under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, with the ability to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians. They will also be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care, with consideration of age and population-specific needs and requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care
• Working under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager
• May be assigned as team lead, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift

Qualifications include:

• Alabama state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license, required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• NRP certificate, preferred
• PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree, preferred
