Job Summary:

Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled Travel MRI Technologist to join their team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to leverage your expertise and experience in magnetic resonance imaging to provide top-notch patient care.

About the Role:
  • This 13-week assignment will involve working as a travel MRI Technologist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • You will be responsible for operating MRI machines, ensuring safety protocols are followed, maintaining equipment, and providing high-quality images while delivering compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Pre-Procedure Preparation:
  • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure appropriate procedures are conducted.
  • Explain MRI procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
  • Ensure necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information, is completed before procedures.
  • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety, checking for implanted devices, allergies to contrast agents, or pregnancy.
Conducting MRI Scans:
  • Operate MRI machines, adjusting settings to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by physicians.
  • Position patients on MRI tables, ensuring comfort and alignment to capture correct images while adhering to safety standards.
  • Administer contrast agents as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Ensure patients remain still during scans to obtain clear, high-resolution images.
Patient Safety and Comfort:
  • Ensure patient safety during MRI procedures, especially concerning strong magnetic fields, by verifying no ferrous or metal objects are present on patients.
  • Keep patients informed during scans, providing reassurance and instructions as needed to ensure comfort.
  • Monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs, during scans to detect potential issues or discomfort.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning to avoid injuries or discomfort during imaging processes.
Post-Procedure Care:
  • Assist patients off MRI tables after procedures and ensure they are stable and comfortable.
  • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments, care for injection sites (if contrast agents were used), and other aftercare instructions.
  • Ensure required post-scan imaging or additional scans are scheduled as necessary.
  • Address immediate concerns or side effects patients may experience, especially if contrast agents were administered.
