Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team. As a Research Engineer at Basis AI, you will be responsible for building and training AI models to solve complex accounting problems. You will work closely with our ML research team, co-founders, and the rest of the team to drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and train AI models to solve accounting problems
  • Stay up-to-date on applied research to inform design decisions
  • Take ownership of internal benchmarks and evaluations
  • Own LLM experimentation and set culture and practice
  • Shape our ML culture and processes, including internal use of LLMs for ML and engineering
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in ML; for candidates with fewer years, looking for evidence of exceptional ability
  • Strong first-principles thinking and ability to break down complex concepts
  • Scrappy and able to iterate quickly in near-term while planning for long-term
  • Flexibility and willingness to jump across multiple disciplines
  • Team-first mentality and passion for vision
