Job Title: Senior Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our team in Gold River, CA or remotely in Northern California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated attorney to represent our company in all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation in Northern California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Workers' Compensation law and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the company in all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation in Northern California
  • Prepare and defend moderate to high exposure Workers' Compensation cases from a challenging and varied caseload
  • Work directly with claims professionals to provide legal analysis and advice
  • Prepare and file legal pleadings and documents
  • Perform legal research and prepare for and conduct pre-hearing discovery
  • Prepare for and handle final hearings before Workers' Compensation Administrative Law Judges
  • Conduct post-trial activities as necessary
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor and 7 or more years of experience in Workers' Compensation Litigation
  • Member in good standing of the California State Bar Association
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience working with Lexis or Westlaw
  • Experience independently managing Workers' Compensation case loads as lead attorney
  • Knowledge of the insurance defense litigation legal environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a team-based environment
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors, including office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Zurich provides a comprehensive employee benefits package and competitive compensation.

Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.

The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.

The starting salary range for this position is $140,000.00 to $170,000.00.
