Overview of Kelemen 8Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide range of diagnoses, illnesses, and disease processes. Our unit has telemetry capabilities, allowing us to closely monitor patients' vital signs and provide timely interventions. We have a total of 77 beds, with 37 on the North side and 36 on the South side. Our unit is equipped with two negative pressure rooms and an anti-room, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.
Role of the Graduate NurseThe Graduate Nurse (GN) is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supervision. As a GN, you will work under the guidance of a preceptor or Clinical Educator, developing your skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process and therapeutic use of self.
- Supervising and guiding patients, families, and other healthcare staff as needed.
- Communicating effectively with internal customers, supervisors, and physicians to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Applying Cooper University Health Care's core values and adhering to established policies and procedures.
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold a temporary emergency RN license and be eligible to work under supervision in an acute care facility licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health.
- Be a graduate of a NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
- Hold current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
