Position Overview:
The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing fundamental mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic repairs, as well as preventive maintenance on all facility equipment and structures. This role operates primarily on the 1st shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all OSHA and facility safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Comply with established Good Manufacturing Practices, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
  • Ensure the preventive maintenance program is implemented for all plant machinery.
  • Provide timely emergency repairs for production equipment to minimize operational downtime.
  • Perform welding, cutting, and soldering tasks using both electric and gas equipment.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and servicing.
  • Engage in various tasks including pipe fitting, boiler making, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, and the installation and alignment of new equipment.
  • Regularly engage in physical activities such as standing, reaching, bending, and moving throughout the facility.
  • Possess visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Meet hearing requirements as per manufacturing facility safety standards.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is required; Technical School graduation is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance setting is required.
  • Experience in the food industry is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary.
  • A high level of judgment is essential for this position.
  • Familiarity with power and hand tools is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary.
  • Must communicate professionally with all levels of employees, as training for newly acquired equipment may be required.
