We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance and repair of all production-related machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and fix all production equipment associated with the department to prevent and/or correct mechanical and electrical breakdowns following strict product safety and quality standards.
- Electrical/electronic troubleshooting in a manufacturing plant.
- Background in industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer systems.
- Knowledge of and capable of performing special technical skills (electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC skills, machining, welding tasks, high-pressure gases).
- Instrumentation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration. Knowledge of electrical installation and construction, AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.
- Knowledge of or be willing and able to train in maintenance systems (SAP), lubricants, and lubricating systems, and new technologies in predictive maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement programs through active participation in plant productivity programs.
- Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree a plus but not required.
- 3 years (Three 12-month periods) maintenance-related experience, including a minimum of 1500 hours of on-the-job experience.
- Experience with Windows-based PCs.
- Experienced to repair heating equipment, fix gas-fired equipment, and calibrate all gas-related controls.
- Expertise with PLCs: instrumentation, repair, and calibration.
- Background in industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer systems.
- Experience with Windows-based PCs.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers.
- 5+ years of electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.
