Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist functions to facilitate the safe and effective outcome of intraoperative surgical procedures under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and the direct supervision of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse.

The ideal candidate will process expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique in accordance with the nursing practice standards established by the specific unit/department, as well as the rules, regulations, and/or standards established by the State Board of Nursing, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, AORN, and AST.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
  • Assist in the transfer of patients to and from the operating room
  • Participate in the surgical team to ensure a safe and effective outcome

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Surgical Technology
  • Surgical Technologist Certification
  • 3 years of experience in an acute care setting as a Surgical Technologist
