Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at Baptist Hospital. As a member of our nursing team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
About the Role:
- You will be responsible for attending all quality and core curriculum classes, actively participating in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and successfully completing all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program.
- Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Education Team, you will refine your nursing knowledge and skills, working closely with licensed Registered Nurses who oversee all clinical experiences, documentation, and procedures in the clinical environment.
- You will actively participate in managing clinical situations for which you are assigned, adhering to policy and procedure requirements of the organization, including licensure renewal, assigned training, employee health screenings, time and attendance policy, dress code policy, patient confidentiality, infection control, and medication administration.
Responsibilities:
- You will collect patient data and complete required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards, identifying patient problems/needs and setting priorities, interpreting and recording latest diagnostic results, performing nursing assessment using critical thinking skills under the direct supervision of the licensed RN.
- You will develop a plan of care based on nursing process, incorporating the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs, making referrals to multidisciplinary support services under the direct supervision of the licensed RN.
- You will provide treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards, demonstrating understanding of age-related characteristics and needs of patients served, explaining nursing procedures, providing discharge teaching, and acting as an advocate and coordinator of patient care with other healthcare personnel.
- You will record patient care delivered as planned and any variation, with appropriate rationale, implementing nursing measures related to impending or associated problems under the direct supervision of the licensed RN.
Requirements:
- You must be licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
- You should have an Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- No previous experience is required, but candidates with greater than 12 months of experience are not eligible.
