Medical Claims Specialist

Job Summary:The Billing Specialist is a key member of the Revenue Cycle team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement procedures for insurance claims and patient balances. This role will work closely with Payers, Patients, and the Revenue Cycle Management team to ensure all billing and collection processes are performed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
- Verify patient medical information for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare bills and invoices, documenting amounts due for medical procedures and services.
- Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Monitor and record late payments.
- Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a medical biller or similar role.
- Current AAPC certification or equivalent required.
